It Matters

I had an epiphany whilst standing in a charming Victorian library in the heart of Manchester. After a season of dryness, walking in the desert and not to mention a self-imposed blogging block it suddenly dawned on me that our words and actions can leave an imprint that lasts for generations.

Surrounded by an impressive collection of voices from days gone by coming from books, letters and manuscripts (one dating from 200 Ad) I realised that our voices must never be drowned out by a fear that we have nothing of importance to say or contribute.

The collection of manuscripts, books and letters came from real people no different to you and I. Albeit they walked this earth hundreds of years ago-a very minor detail depending on how you look at things. Yet their words have left a lasting imprint that has penetrated the passage of time.

So for the ones that often doubt or feel insecure; the slow speakers and the ones drowning in a sea of uncertainty- I want to remind you as i was reminded that it matters. Your words, ideas and creativity could leave an imprint for future generations. So write and speak unashamedly be wildly creative even without an audience for we don’t share our hearts for popularity, we share our hearts because what we have to say matters.

So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! James 3:5
